According to a newspaper survey, ICU has by far the best university library in Japan. Apart from administrative and faculty buildings holding staff offices and classrooms, there is an Integrated Learning Centre which is fully equipped with the latest computers and language laboratories; the Hachiro Yuasa Memorial Museum holding archaeological artefacts, mostly of the Jomon era taken from digs on the campus; the University Hall which contains the ICU clinic and the Sacred Music Centre; the Diffendorfer Memorial Hall, which is a facility for students and includes a large auditorium; the ICU church, which has a 3-manual Rieger organ and is one of the finest organs in Japan; and a Physical Education Centre (with swimming pool) and Sports Clubhouse.
There are many other interesting buildings and facilities on campus, such as the Taizanso Gardens, which are cultivated and natural gardens enclosing two thatched tea houses of historical interest. And because of the green island nature of the campus, there are many birds and other wildlife here that are either resident or visit by travelling along the green corridor of the nearby No River. It is thus easy to see, for example, three different kinds of woodpecker, many kinds of butterfly and insect such as the unusual black-winged dragonfly, harmless snakes, badgers (at night), and many cicadas in the summer. Blue kingfishers that feed along the No River often nest within the campus.
